who declared being unable to sign …
Notes for Marie (Spouse 2)
she was his first wife, died, and is not my direct relation. A worthy footnote.

Here is the certificate of the first wedding of your ancestor Francois Le Flem :
“Francois Le Flem, about 26, son of late Pierre and Isabelle Le Tinevez (no doubt here) from Camlez on the one hand, and Marie Tecle (?) Le Grouiec daughter of Francois and Marguerite Omnes from (I cannot identify the village) … were married the 22d November 1791 …”
Signatures : the Francois Le Flem who signs on the left is not the groom who signs in the middle F Le Flem. There is no indication on who the first one is. The bride signs Mari Griec. I suspect that they could only sign their names but not write or read.
