The first day of the month of May 1732 was baptized on the saint fonts of this church by the undersigned Thomas born the same day and year above mentioned from the legitimate marriage of Rolland (normal spelling Roland Quilgars and Noëlle Le Gareres (I am not sure about the “r’s”). His god father and godmother were Thmas Hamel undersigned and Marie Pohaër who does not sign

Thomas Quilgars husband of Jacquette Malegeant, aged about 60, died in the church communion after receiving the last sacraments, the 23d February above mentioned year (1792), was buried the following day in the church cemetery in presence of Yves and Jean Quilgars his sons who declared being unable to sign

Today, in this region, the name appears written : Malegeant or Malégeant
“GA” in French sounds like in garage in English
When you add an “e” after the “g” it changes to a soft “g” like in gentleman or surgeon. However in French it sounds like the “j” in English, not like the “dj” sound of your “g”. The “t” at the end is not voiced.
