Notes for Maurice Malégent
Birth certificate:

Maurice Malegant (= Malegeant or Malegent) born the tenth of January 1706 legitimate son of Tousaint (= Toussaint) and Louise Le Penru (?) his father and mother was baptized the next day by me undersigned priest and godfather and godmother were Maurice Kuégan and Rhenée (= Renée) Ollivier who declared being unable to sign

Note from Xavier:
“I have not found the wedding of Maurice Malegent and Marie Le Guilcher in 1733 in Q-G. Again the same problem : year missing in the register, unless it is misplaced but I have not had the time to investigate. I’ll try to get to that later and move forward on the easy part.”

Death certificate:

Maurice Malegant daughter (the priest must have been drunk !) of Toussaint Maligent and Louise Penru his father and mother aged about 34 died on April 28 1742 after receiving the sacraments during his fatal illness and his body was buried the next day in the parochial church of Le Faoüet by the undersigned R(ecto)r in presence of Louise Penru his mother, Nouel (= Noël) Malegant, Almaury (= Amaury) Malegent, Pierre L’ancien and Marie Le Quilcher his wife who declared being unable to sign.

Note from Xavier: “Malegant and Malegent are pronounced differently in French. The first one is a hard g like in English while the second one is a soft g more like the English j. Based on what we have seen so far the second one seems to match the actual pronunciation of the name. Another possible spelling would be Malegeant which sounds exactly like Malegent.”
Notes for Marie (Spouse 1)
Birth (notes from Xavier:)

“She has a sister Marguerite born on the 19th of September 1697 at Q-G.
According to her age at the wedding/death she was born around 1700.
Years 1700 and 1701 are missing in the record. She must be born during this period.”

Death certificate:

Marie Le Quilcher aged about 54 died in the church communion the 17th February 1754 after having received the sacraments necessary and the next day she was buried in this church by the undersigned priest in presence of Noël Le Saint and Vincent Le Calvez who do not know how to sign
