Notes for Sophie Marie Anne Quilgars
from birth certificate:
in Quemper-Guézennec
“The sixth of March, 1867 at 5 pm birth certificate of Sophie Marie Anne Quilgars born on March 6th
legitimate daughter of Pierre Quilgars aged 29, farmer
and Jeanne Marie Le Cain aged 23, housekeeper

declaration by the father
first witness Yves Boitard, 39, ploughman
second witness François Le Mandé, 39, farmer
both from Quemper-Guézennec
signed Le Landé François, P Quilgars

taken from marriage certificate in Jersey, Channel Islands:

2/10/1889 at the Office of the Superintendent Registrar

Yves Marie Le Flem, aged 20, Bachelor, occupation Forgeron (Blacksmith), living in St Helier, born in Breleveney, Cotes du Nord. Father Yves Le Flem, occupation Blacksmith
to
Sophie Quilgars, aged 21, Spinster, occupation Servant, living  in St Helier, born in Quimper Guézennec, Cotes du Nord. Father Pierre Marie Quilgars, occupation Grower.

The witnesses were Jean Allaire and Josephine Quilgars.

The second witness' signature was difficult to read from the register and the 'best guess' was Josephine, however looking at the Cote d'Armour record of Sophie's birth it would appear that she was a twin as the next record details the birth of Marie Josephine Quilgars, so a very likely witness to the wedding.

NOTES prior to 1-2-13:

Middle initial per 1910 census. st

Info as best told to me by my mom, Janice Arthur Thomas:

She talked to Uncle Junie, Francis Le Flem Jr., who said his grandmother, Sophie Le Flem's maiden name sounded like "Kildare" as he pronounced it, the best my mom could make out. But he said it was spelled "Quildare" or perhaps he was saying "Quikae"
Notes for Yves Marie Frank (Spouse 1)
