Notes for Delia Smith
M. Delia Balentine of 18 Perkins Place in Mesopotamia, Tumbull, Ohio, nee Smith (Rennster 1798-1863 and Electa Clark 1802-1880), who had been married twice before to Williams and to Balantine, was married to Emory M Sanderson (1831-1910) on Feb 28, 1902 in Cuyahoga County. William H. Balantine & Delia had a son, Wm H. born abt 1876, married Effie R. Leahy. Delia and W.H Balentine listed in Cleveland directory’s for 1892, 1911 and 1917.
(Above taken mostly from the marriage certificate from her THIRD marriage)

Cleveland Public Library necrology files: Balantine, Mrs. Delia September 26, 1923 Reel #4 Mrs. Delia Balantine, widow of the late William H Balantine, mother of Mrs. Minnie D Dehendan, Funeral from FLynn-Froelk Co. parlors, 5309 Superior avenue, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. Burial at Riverside cemetery.

Notes from a friendly researcher in Ohio:
“One more thing: You may be aware that Wm H Balantine, 1833, buried Riverside Cemetery with monument on 24 Feb 1891, has a daughter Mona D. 1891-2 Dec 1897 – both removed from Erie Street cemetery; Mona reinterred in Riverside on May 5, 1898??? I am proposing that your Delia was buried in Woodland and later removed to Riverside with her husband and daughter. Know that the original burial for Wm was 1833 – 24 Feb 1891 at Erie Street. The Riverside Monument FAG states he was born in 1804. Such messy records back then. That same FAG for Wm. states that Delia was buried there on 24 Sep 1923 in Sec 8 Lot 88 but has no individual marker. If you already knew all of this...sorry. I will keep Delia’s tree on our Woodland site; never know is someone else buried in WL might be related. It’s happened before.”
Notes for Edwin (Spouse 1)
I STILL BELIEVE THIS DOCUMENT STATING “EDWIN” IS THE CORRECT DOCUMENT.
BUT I NOW DOUBT THIS EDWIN IS THE RIGHT ONE.

Father’s name “Edgar” is from the death certificate of Minnie D. Williams.

we assume Edgar/Edwin died young since divorcing 3 times was unusuual back then. not sure though

After years of doubting this, I am going with it.
1851 Marriage certificate has Delia marrying EDWIN Williams. This has to be right.
