Doris Blanche Lucera of Rock Hill, S.C., died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at Keystone Hospice House. She was 69.

Doris was born August 26, 1939, in Abington, the daughter of the late Leroy and the late Viola (Hobensack) Shelmire.

Doris was a 1957 graduate of Upper Moreland High School.

She was a dedicated artist who loved to draw and paint in many forms. Doris was a master Scrabble player.

She was the loving mother of Maria L. Caruso and Nicole E. Jamison; grandmother of Nicole Caruso, Michael John Caruso, Zach Jamison and Kelsey Jamison; and sister of Larry Shelmire.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, and her funeral service at 10 a.m. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 North Easton Road, Willow Grove. A cemetery service at Hatboro Cemetery will follow the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Keystone Hospice House, 8765 Stenton Ave., Wyndmoor, PA 19038.

Doris Blanche Lucera
Doris Blanche Lucera of Rock Hill, S.C., died Dec. 23, 2008, at Keystone Hospice House. She was 69.
Born in Abington, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Viola (Hobensack) Shelmire.
She was a 1957 graduate of Upper Moreland High School. She was a dedicated artist who loved to draw and paint in many forms. She was a master Scrabble player.
She is survived by two daughters, Maria L. Caruso and Nicole E. Jamison; four grandchildren; and a brother, Larry Shelmire.
A funeral service was held Dec. 27 at the Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, Willow Grove, with Pastor Aaron Harvie from Riverside Community Church, Horsham, officiating. Interment was at Hatboro Cemetery.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Keystone Hospice House, 8765 Stenton Ave., Wyndmoor, PA 19038.
