Double Funeral held for Pastor and Wife
Funeral services for the Rev. Dr. Amos A. Arthur, a retired Methodist minister, who died Tuesday, and his wife, Mrs. Laura Styer Arthur, who died last Saturday were held last night in the East Allegheny Avenue Methodist
Church, Philadelphia. The couple were buried in Reading today.
Doctor Arthur succumbed in the Methodist hospital. He had not been told that his wife had succumbed three days previously at their home, 427 Glen Echo Road, Mt. Airy.
A member of the Philadelphia Methodist Conference, Doctor Arthur retired in 1932. He was born in Reading, was graduated from Dickinson College in 1884 and ordained the same year.
The Arthurs are survived by two daughters, Mrs. Earl B. Collmer, of Mt. Airy, and Mrs. Fred K. Freehafer of Pittsburgh.
