Notes for Howard Sterling
New information on Jan. 27, 2018: Found their marriage certificate, which states a few things. Date of marriage and place, and it names his parents, though it’s hard to make out. It says Father is Frederick and he died, and mother remarried and gave consent. Her name is Sarah Miller. Very hard to read.

All research points to Howard being an orphan/abandoned/parents died etc.
each census record has him living as a farm laborer on someone else’s property, or in a bording home.
Marriage record has his parents listed as “Miller” but i cannot connect him to the Millers in any other record.
Death certificate is signed by a “James Pollack” and one census record, at age 14 in 1880, has him working with/boarding with a George Pollack.
Death certificate says he died of a cerebral hemmorage. Family lore says he was a drunk and that he and Mary Ann has seperated before his death. The DC does not mention her or any known family.

Research completed:
Times Chronicle newspaper 10-30-15 to 11-13-15
Public Spirit newspaper 10-30-15 to 11-13-15
Helwig funeral home 1859-1965
Old York Road Historical Society clipping file

NOTHING found in any of the above
